Who we are

Our Story

At Useless, we don’t believe in producing more, we believe in making better use of what’s already out there. We design and create from vintage and deadstock materials only, breathing new life into what others might overlook. The result: one-of-a-kind pieces that are high on style and low on impact. Currently only 1% of clothes are recycled into new clothes. We want that to change! Fashion is one of the world’s most damaging industries. Textile production alone accounts for around 20% of global water pollution and 10% of carbon emissions - more than all international flights and maritime shipping combined. Did you know, 85% of textiles end up in dumps every year? That’s why we made it our mission to break the cycle of waste by staying within the loop. No new production, just thoughtful design and responsible creativity. Every Useless piece is lovingly, uniquely and individually designed and hand-crafted in our London Studio, where circularity meets style. Beyond the Studio, we continue to have strong sustainability goals. By partnering with Carbon Checkout, we give you, the customer, the opportunity to balance the carbon offset of your purchase with a small donation with each purchase, with all proceeds going towards global sustainability and conservation funds. We aim to undertake efficient and sustainable shipping - head to our Shipping page to find out more.
